Helper
Description
The bakery helper supports the bakery department by stocking, displaying, and maintaining fresh bakery products while ensuring cleanliness and providing excellent customer service. This role also assists the baker and helps create an inviting shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Face and restock bakery shelves and display cases
- Set up and maintain bakery products in display cases and coolers
- Ensure product freshness, quality, and proper rotation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery department
- Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling to customers
- Assist customers with inquiries and support the baker as needed
Requirements
- Baking knowledge is an asset
- Friendly, customer service oriented and team player
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Second language is an asset
Baker
Description
The baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of products while ensuring quality, consistency, and food safety standards. This role also supports inventory management, special orders, and supervision of bakery staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake doughs, batters, and baked goods
- Frost and decorate cakes and specialty items
- Prepare custom and special orders
- Ensure product quality and consistency standards
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety in kitchen and work areas
- Monitor inventory, order ingredients, and maintain production records
- Supervise and support bakery and kitchen staff
- Assist customers with bakery selections as needed
Requirements
- Baker trade certification and/or strong baking skills required
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Friendly, customer service oriented and team player
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Leadership experience is an asset
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Second language is an asset
